We are in the last couple of months of the cold/flu season (Oct-Apr). Since the appearance of Covid three years ago, and then the variants of all kinds, there have been many strange symptoms happening in my community. Most of these are not life-threatening, but they can make a person miserable! Complaints of low-grade fever, headache, sore throat, nausea, sinus infections, wheezing, cough and other flu-like symptoms are common.
Over the counter and prescription drugs can cover up the symptoms, which can help a person feel more comfortable, temporarily, but it doesn’t cure the ailment and can sometimes drive the illness deeper, taking longer to resolve and increase the possibility of recurrence.
With homeopathy, there is more flexibility. Since there are many remedies that can be matched to the specific symptoms and then stimulate the body to heal itself, it shortens the duration and reduces the intensity of the symptoms. Homeopathy works on a functional basis, not a symptom basis, which means it may also be able to prevent future illness as the immune system is restored quicker.
I am amazed when the solution to a seemingly complex situation can be so simple. A complaint of headache, nausea, diarrhea and fever can be resolved with one homeopathic remedy: Nux Vomica 30C taken every 15 minutes for an hour. We often see a marked reduction in symptoms within the first 20 minutes.
RSV (which is a fancy name for the common cold virus) made it’s way into the headlines this year. There is no specific allopathic medicine to treat RSV. The best they have to offer is supportive therapy, such as: suction, oxygen, IV fluids and mechanical ventilation, if severe.
Homeopathy offers three excellent remedies:
In the office, I am so glad to have a way of non-invasive scanning that gives me a foundation to work off of homeopathically. I've used this computerized system for many years for both acute and chronic care. It is very reliable because we are interviewing the body and it loves to tell us what it needs!
