Encouragement is the key!
Over the years I’ve come to realize, “If you give the body the right information, it will heal itself.” The body moves towards balance, which is called Homeostasis. Ask yourself, “Is what I’m doing accomplishing what I want?” If it is, then you will feel better, you will be nicer to live with and encouragement is the pathway you follow.
Let me tell you a story to illustrate the point.
Are you just surviving?
A client came to see me 18 months ago, who worked for 30 years as a nurse in a hospital setting. He was suffering from severe back pain, was overweight, was on five prescription medications for pain that were not helping, ate breakfast and lunch daily out of the vending machine, and drank almost a dozen cans of diet sodas and sweet drinks all day long.
He was doing everything the doctors told him, but wasn’t getting results he wanted, so he was depressed and discouraged. He was reluctant to come in, but his wife encouraged him and came along to support him. I think that was key! We can accomplish changes so much easier with a supportive buddy or partner!
Plus a good friend had referred him to me because he had experienced great success with the weight loss program we worked on.
So, I challenged him to make some basic, simple changes to his diet:
He was willing and committed to do these things and had a glimmer of hope as he left my office.
Do your expectations provide you a healthy lifestyle?
I saw him six weeks later and he was a changed person. He had been consistent with what I had asked him to do. And he got results. His pain level reduced dramatically and because of that he stopped taking all but one prescription medication. He had no need for them anymore. Taking the homeopathic remedies, anti-inflammatory herbal supplements and changing some lifestyle habits, resolved his pain issue and he lost weight. According to his wife, he was much easier to live with – pain can be exhausting and do crazy things to our emotions.
Is what you are doing giving you the results you want?
His symptoms were the result of deeper lifestyle issues that needed to be addressed and corrected. What was out of balance? Some would think that one would see a back specialist or a chiropractor or an acupuncturist to resolve back pain. But I wanted to get to the root of the problem and get him to make some changes, rather than just deal with the symptoms he was aware of. His quality of life improved dramatically.
I saw him several months later and he was still doing well, which is why I do what I do!
In addition to that, there was a domino effect for him – his relationships were better, work was more enjoyable and he had encouragement and hope for the future.
Say! Have you heard the encouraging word…?
The end results is that people refer their friends so they, too, can get the help they need. 90% of my business is from referrals. I appreciate your referrals since I love to work with people who are committed to their welfare and open-mined enough to look at other options!
Is there an abundance to living?
When my clients are happy, they communicate that to others… I get a phone call… a new client… and another life is changed. I love it! People take the information I give them, they attend to it, and are consistent with it, so they tend to get the results they need.
How could something that simple dramatically impact the results? Encouragement is the key to living in health when we address the underlying symptoms and have buddies who can walk along side us.
